By Alex W. Rodriguez for the Star-Ledger
Where: The Apollo Theater, 253 W. 125th St., New York When: Monday, 8 p.m. How much: $35-$50. Call (800) 745-3000 or visit ticketmaster.com.
UPDATE: The venerable Nate Chinen weighs in with an excellect, but not charitable reveiew of the film. His assessment rings true to me, I’ll only add that I seemed to have enjoyed it a bit more than he did. Viewed through the “jazz movie” perspective it is a shallow farce, but as a 21st-century homage to Charlie Chaplin it was a good deal of fun.
